Background

The 2 Directors’ broad- based careers encompass industry, Government and NGO’s at all levels. We have a thorough understanding of community development, having occupied management positions at various levels. Both directors have been involved in playing, coaching, administering and developing sport, particularly tennis from grassroots to high performance level for over 30 years.

Zaida Beukes is a qualified HDE teacher with 10 years experience in physical education. She is also a qualified National Facilitator, Assessor, and Moderator of competencies and Mentor/Coach within the South Africa National Qualifications Framework. She is a national tennis coach as well as a tutor of starter tennis trainers. Zaida has played tennis at provincial, national and international level and is involved in sport development at prisons in the Western Cape. She also manages a Community Tennis Centre in the Lotus River area and has facilitated training for indoor and outdoor modified sport and recreation games.

Cliffie Swartz has years of experience in community development, community outreach project management specializing in capacity building and increasing participation. He has the National Facilitator, Assessor, Moderator and Mentor/Coach competencies within the South African National Qualifications Framework. He has occupied middle and senior management positions within local government, NGO and the business industry. Cliffie has worked with and managed projects and programmes in townships and rural communities across the country. He also trains coaches and is a national examiner within the tennis coaching structure. He also occupied senior positions in sport at local, provincial, national and Continental level. Cliffie has professional and international tennis coaching qualifications and has coached and managed the game at provincial, national and international levels. He has attended several national and international workshops and conferences.

We have a passion for community development, sport and recreation and have experience from grassroots to world events. Our social responsibility programme includes projects for Sankheleni HIV/Aids support group in Eerste River, Mvula Independent Primary school in Nyanga, Life Skills at a primary school in Grassy Park, Vuka Youth development programme in Eerste River, Transplant Games Association of South Africa, Lotus River community centre indoor mini-tennis programme and mini-tennis programmes at identified prisons.
