Climal Creative Projects
Climal Creative Projects was formed in 2005 with its core focus on community development and sport and recreation. We are a young business with vast experience in community upliftment and sport and recreation projects and programmes. Having grown up in disadvantaged communities ourselves and working in rural and township areas for over 15 years have given us a thorough understanding of the challenges at this level.
The company is a Licensed Training Service Provider (LTSP) with SRSA (Sport and Recreation South Africa) and makes use of a pool of qualified facilitators and assessors. We are at an advanced stage of the accreditation process with a SETA.
Sport, our key focus area, is used as a platform to expand our involvement and contribution in addressing some of the socio-economic challenges that our communities are facing. Managing grassroots projects focusing on community development which includes upliftment, participation, leadership improvement and empowerment of women, youth groups and people with disabilities gave us a good understanding of the day to day issues faced by ordinary people.
Our holistic approach to development within communities faced with different dynamics and challenges make our products and services very unique. The whole focus on recreation, fun and enjoyment while exploring for talent, encourage more people to play and participate. We see schools as an integral part of the communities and can tailor projects and programmes to ensure that community members has a role to play at school level and that programmes continue after hours and weekends. The talent within the youth is a key focus for development. Sport and recreation are powerful tools to attract children to play, instead of being lured to drugs, alcohol, crime, dangerous sexual activities etc. Issues like; over-competitiveness, lack of facilities and equipment, lack of sustainable programmes, not enough opportunities to socially get together etc. contribute to the youth leaving sport. The monster drug “Tik” is destroying our youngsters. It is a proven fact that sport and recreation can convince the youth that the “better future” that they are all looking forward to does entirely depends on them. Sport and recreation crosses al boundaries including age, gender, race, religion, social standing, and education. Introducing sport as recreation, fun and enjoyment at school level while exploring for talent, encourage more people to play.
Climal has good relations with and has done some partnership initiatives with the Swiss Consulate in Cape Town, Amy Biehl Foundation, Imbewu (Roger Federer Foundation), Swisscourt, University of Western Cape, Chrysalis Academy, Western Cape Network for Community Peace and Development and ESM Investment (Pty) Ltd.
Our services and products target interested people from community structures, schools and sport and recreation organizations and develop them into sound leaders and trainers who can add value and can create and appetite amongst people to play and participate. These services and products are tailor-made to suit the needs of our clients.
